Quality is no longer a logo used by commercial companies or a luxurious feature bragged about by executive leaders, but a necessity for every institution and country that seeks global success   in its performance and candidacy .In a world where the accessibility of knowledge is a lot like the accessibility of air, satisfying knowledge seekers has only grown difficult and hard to please.


Quality in all its concepts, illustrations and methods revolves around meeting the consumers’ needs, as we may refer to it in this article, quality in its simplest form means the correspondence with a product or a service to the standards identified to meet the consumers acceptations. Quality also means that a product or service is presented in its best form, which will result in satisfying the consumers. In addition quality is defined as increasing the type of service that adds value to the consumers, while decreasing time, effort and expenses.


After a long introduction comes the question of: Is the field of education isolated from this global phenomena and the international competition towards achieving quality, of course the answer to this question is “NO “in fact education is at the core of this equation and the main component responsible for development or the diminishment of any nation, so for that achieving quality in education is a national requirement and a goal sought by all countries. The concept of practical education quality, is defined in the quality of the educational outcomes, one of which is the production of young, responsible and productive generations, aiming to achieve national objectives and future plans, while supporting growth and development in accomplishing global standards.


King Abdul-Aziz Quality Award

In his Excellency’s the custodian of the two holy mosques vision towards national quality, which he launched in the third annual quality conference in 1432AH he announced “ the kingdom of Saudi Arabia with its products and services will become an international standard of quality by 2020”. Moreover his vision will act as a compass leading and directing all current efforts towards excellence, and for that, education must lead and guide all other national aspect towards achieving this vision, which will allow national products and services to raise to the global level and compete in the world market. In this case the quality of the kingdoms products and services will support the Saudi economy and regional status as the largest source of energy in the world and one of the top 20 economical countries in the world we live in today, in addition to this countries great honor of serving the two holy mosques and those visiting them.


In this context, and for the need of a national quality and excellence figure, that acts as a path to reaching a global performance level the King Abdullah quality prize was established. Beginning with the production and services sector and followed by the public education sector, which was provided with high global standards that were developed and planned to meet total quality management. Starving towards total quality management in educating and excellence, which will only be achieved by a complete quality management vision in schools and institutions, for example the school leadership administration standard, which must be examined in terms of determining and spreading the institutions principles and goals in both the near and far future, as well as setting the policies and there action plan. The importance of quality in schools is an aspect that must receive special care and attention, for it’s the foundation of the future of education in any nation , and a true example of that is the enrollment of public schools in the quality criteria and excellence in the United States of America  , which has proved to be very effective in achieving quality in their education system .
