Dr. Abdulrahim Refdan Hakami: A Career of Excellence in Teaching and Research, Advancing a Culture of Quality

Dr. Abdulrahim Refdan Hakami, Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences at King Khalid University and former Vice Dean for Quality at the Deanship of Academic Development and Quality, exemplifies a career that combines excellence in research and teaching with contributions to quality enhancement. He earned his PhD in Virology from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, and won first place in the Education category—Faculty Member branch—in the eighth edition of the University’s Excellence Awards. He has contributed to reviewing academic programs and delivering training in quality assurance and accreditation readiness, alongside his research and writing. In 2025, he published a study exploring factors influencing academic achievement, and in 2026, he published Less Glow, More Stars: How to Bring the Stars Back to Our Cities, continuing his contributions to education and the promotion of scientific and environmental awareness.
