Prof. Abdullah Ghadhran Al-Sehemi… From a Passion for Science to Leadership in Innovation
Professor Abdullah Ghadhran Al-Sehemi, Professor of Computational Organic Chemistry at King Khalid University and Advisor to the University President for Scientific Research, has built a career combining research excellence and innovation. He earned his PhD from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, and held several leadership positions, including Dean of Scientific Research, Dean of the College of Science, and Director of the Research Center for Advanced Materials Science. He has published more than 600 research papers, authored specialized books, and secured patents in solar energy, nanomaterials, and electronic sensors. His achievements earned him first place in the patents category of the University’s research incentive awards in 2021, alongside inclusion in Stanford’s list of the world’s top 2% of scientists. He has also contributed to developing researchers through supervising postgraduate theses, combining experimental research with computational simulation to advance materials development and drug design.
