The Deanship of Development and Quality held a workshop on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Training Hall of the Deanship’s headquarters, entitled “Quality Guide: Governance – Roles – and Implementation Mechanisms.” The workshop was delivered by Dr. Younes Shahlawi, one of the Deanship’s advisors, and was attended by approximately 30 participants from university staff.

The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the quality assurance framework, clarify governance concepts, and define roles and responsibilities within academic programs. It also addressed practical implementation mechanisms, performance indicators analysis, and the design of effective improvement plans that support academic accreditation and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

The workshop covered several key themes, including:

The concept of quality assurance and its relationship to accreditation as a continuous process driven by an effective system.
An overview of national accreditation standards (NCAAA) and global quality models.
The distinction between Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
Governance structures within academic programs, including the roles of quality committees, program coordinators, and faculty members.
Practical application of the quality cycle (Plan–Do–Check–Act) through annual reports and improvement plans.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), along with data collection and document management mechanisms.

His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Sulami, officially launched the “Internal Auditor” Program on Sunday. The program is delivered by the Deanship of Development and Quality in collaboration with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), in the presence of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam. This initiative reflects the University’s strategic commitment to strengthening institutional excellence frameworks and advancing their practical implementation.

The program marks a significant step in the University’s ongoing efforts to build national capacity by preparing qualified internal auditors with the competencies required to apply institutional excellence standards, assess organizational performance, and identify areas for improvement using well-established scientific methodologies.
