Learning Outcomes Measurement and Reporting: Designing assessment tools, defining performance levels, analyzing results, and informing decision-making
The Deanship of Development and Quality held a workshop on Wednesday, 12-11-1447 AH (corresponding to April 29, 2026), at the Deanship’s Training Hall, entitled:
“Learning Outcomes Measurement and Reporting: Designing Assessment Tools, Defining Performance Levels, Analyzing Results, and Informing Decision-Making.”
The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Asim Mohammed Ibrahim Omar, Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the College of Education and Advisor to the Deanship of Development and Quality, with the attendance of approximately 28 participants from the University staff.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of accurately measuring learning outcomes, define the key controls governing the measurement process, and provide practical applications on procedures for measuring course and program learning outcomes. It also addressed how to document learning outcomes within the approved templates of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission for both course and program reports.

- Measurement of learning outcomes at the course level:
- Phase 1: Planning the measurement of course learning outcomes
- Phase 2: Implementing the measurement plan
- Phase 3: Preparing the course learning outcomes report and improvement plan
- Phase 4: Implementing the improvement plan
- Measurement of learning outcomes at the program level:
- Phase 1: Planning the measurement of program learning outcomes
- Phase 2: Implementing the measurement plan
- Phase 3: Preparing the program learning outcomes report and improvement plan
- Phase 4: Implementing the improvement plan
- Recording learning outcomes measurement results:
- Entering course-level results into the course report
- Entering program-level results into the program report
The workshop also included practical activities and interactive discussions on how to measure learning outcomes using the designated templates at both course and program levels. Participants were provided with training materials and supporting learning resources related to learning outcomes assessment.
This workshop comes as part of the Deanship of Development and Quality’s ongoing efforts to support academic programs, promote a culture of quality, and empower university staff to apply best practices in quality assurance and accreditation.
