The Deanship of Development and Quality held a workshop on Wednesday, 12-11-1447 AH (corresponding to April 29, 2026), at the Deanship’s Training Hall, entitled:
“Learning Outcomes Measurement and Reporting: Designing Assessment Tools, Defining Performance Levels, Analyzing Results, and Informing Decision-Making.”

The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Asim Mohammed Ibrahim Omar, Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the College of Education and Advisor to the Deanship of Development and Quality, with the attendance of approximately 28 participants from the University staff.

The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of accurately measuring learning outcomes, define the key controls governing the measurement process, and provide practical applications on procedures for measuring course and program learning outcomes. It also addressed how to document learning outcomes within the approved templates of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission for both course and program reports.

The workshop covered the following main themes:

  1. The importance of measuring learning outcomes
  2. Controls governing the learning outcomes measurement process
  3. Procedures for measuring learning outcomes
  4. Measurement of learning outcomes at the course level:
    • Phase 1: Planning the measurement of course learning outcomes
    • Phase 2: Implementing the measurement plan
    • Phase 3: Preparing the course learning outcomes report and improvement plan
    • Phase 4: Implementing the improvement plan
  5. Measurement of learning outcomes at the program level:
    • Phase 1: Planning the measurement of program learning outcomes
    • Phase 2: Implementing the measurement plan
    • Phase 3: Preparing the program learning outcomes report and improvement plan
    • Phase 4: Implementing the improvement plan
  6. Recording learning outcomes measurement results:
    • Entering course-level results into the course report
    • Entering program-level results into the program report

The workshop also included practical activities and interactive discussions on how to measure learning outcomes using the designated templates at both course and program levels. Participants were provided with training materials and supporting learning resources related to learning outcomes assessment.

The Deanship of Development and Quality Organizes a Workshop to Strengthen Strategic Planning in Scientific Research and Community Engagement

The workshop was held on Tuesday, 11-11-1447 AH (corresponding to April 28, 2026), at the Deanship’s Training Hall, with the participation of 21 coordinators of scientific research, postgraduate studies, and community service. It was delivered by Dr. Fathi Salem Al-Kalabi, who highlighted the importance of systematic planning in both scientific research and community service, and their role in supporting the quality of academic programs and meeting accreditation requirements.

The workshop aimed to raise participants’ awareness of mechanisms for aligning academic program objectives with the University’s strategic directions, as well as to develop skills in preparing integrated research and community service plans based on measurable and evaluable scientific standards.

Several key themes were addressed, including the conceptual framework of scientific research and community service, mechanisms for aligning objectives with institutional strategies, the development of alignment matrices linking objectives, activities, and performance indicators, and methods for performance measurement and impact evaluation.

The workshop also included practical applications and interactive exercises focused on developing comprehensive research plans and analyzing their alignment with the University’s strategic priorities. Emphasis was placed on the importance of documenting outputs and preparing supporting evidence and documentation, particularly in light of the requirements of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission.

At the conclusion of the workshop, it was emphasized that achieving excellence in scientific research and community service requires strategic planning based on the integration of program objectives with community needs and labor market demands, alongside continuous monitoring and impact measurement to ensure sustainable improvement.

“Academic Program Feasibility Studies: Practical Foundations and Applied Implementation.”

The workshop was delivered by Dr. Waleed Sayed, Associate Professor and former Head of the Department of Business Administration, and was attended by approximately 20 participants from the University’s staff.

The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the fundamental concepts of academic program feasibility studies, including analyzing internal and external environments, identifying labor market needs, and assessing the gap between supply and demand. This contributes to evidence-based academic decision-making. The workshop also addressed mechanisms for designing new academic programs and evaluating their academic and economic feasibility, in addition to reviewing relevant academic accreditation and quality assurance requirements.

The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Fawzi Aref Ibrahim Ali, Advisor to the Deanship, and was attended by approximately 55 participants from university staff.

The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for undergraduate and postgraduate programs (Master’s and PhD), clarify governance concepts, and define roles and responsibilities within academic programs. It also addressed practical implementation mechanisms, KPI analysis and measurement methods, and their alignment with strategic objectives, in addition to developing effective improvement plans that support academic accreditation and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

The workshop covered several key themes, including:
