His Excellency the Rector of King Khalid University has issued a decision assigning Dr. Mohammed Barakat Alamari to serve as Director of the Center for Measurement and Evaluation.

On this occasion, the Deanship of Development and Quality extends its sincere congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Al-Omari. We ask Allah Almighty to grant him success and guidance, assist him in carrying out this responsibility, and bless his efforts in leading the Center’s work, contributing to the development of the measurement and evaluation system, and achieving the University’s goals in quality and institutional excellence.

His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al-Sulami, today launched the Professional Development Programs for Faculty Members, implemented by the Deanship of Development and Quality in partnership with the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC). The initiative reflects the University’s commitment to strengthening a culture of quality and advancing academic and institutional development practices.

As part of the launch, a workshop entitled “The Impact of Implementing Quality Systems on Achieving Strategic Directions” was held for university leaders. The workshop aimed to enhance awareness of the importance of quality systems and their role in supporting strategic directions, achieving the University’s objectives, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

The Deanship of Development and Quality held a workshop entitled “Performance Indicators and Benchmarking: Measurement, Analysis, and Reporting” on Monday, 11/05/2026, at the Training Hall of the Deanship headquarters. The workshop was delivered by Dr. Mahmoud Ramadan Azzam, one of the Deanship’s consultants, and was attended by approximately 30 participants from the university staff.

The workshop aimed to develop participants’ skills in measuring and analyzing performance indicators and preparing related reports, including the associated procedural steps and methodologies.

The workshop addressed several key themes, most notably:

• Performance indicators: their concept and importance.
• The relationship between performance indicators and program accreditation standards.
• Measurement of performance indicators, including calculation methods and data collection techniques.
• Benchmarking: its definition, importance, types, selection criteria, and gap analysis.
• Performance indicator scorecards.
• Preparation of performance indicator reports, including analysis, interpretation, and formulation of improvement recommendations.

The workshop also included practical activities and interactive discussions focused on applied examples of measuring performance indicators, designing indicator scorecards, and preparing analytical reports. The sessions witnessed a high level of engagement and positive interaction from participants.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the presenter emphasized that performance indicators are among the fundamental requirements for academic program accreditation. He also highlighted the importance of conducting annual measurements and preparing regular reports to support continuous quality improvement and close the quality loop during the preparation of program self-study reports for accreditation purposes.

This workshop comes as part of the efforts of the Deanship of Development and Quality to support academic programs, promote a culture of quality, and empower university staff to implement best practices in quality assurance and academic accreditation.

The Deanship of Development and Quality held a workshop on Wednesday, 12-11-1447 AH (corresponding to April 29, 2026), at the Deanship’s Training Hall, entitled:
“Learning Outcomes Measurement and Reporting: Designing Assessment Tools, Defining Performance Levels, Analyzing Results, and Informing Decision-Making.”

The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Asim Mohammed Ibrahim Omar, Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the College of Education and Advisor to the Deanship of Development and Quality, with the attendance of approximately 28 participants from the University staff.

The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of accurately measuring learning outcomes, define the key controls governing the measurement process, and provide practical applications on procedures for measuring course and program learning outcomes. It also addressed how to document learning outcomes within the approved templates of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission for both course and program reports.

The workshop covered the following main themes:

1. The importance of measuring learning outcomes
2. Controls governing the learning outcomes measurement process
3. Procedures for measuring learning outcomes
4. Measurement of learning outcomes at the course level:
   • Phase 1: Planning the measurement of course learning outcomes
   • Phase 2: Implementing the measurement plan
   • Phase 3: Preparing the course learning outcomes report and improvement plan
   • Phase 4: Implementing the improvement plan
5. Measurement of learning outcomes at the program level:
   • Phase 1: Planning the measurement of program learning outcomes
   • Phase 2: Implementing the measurement plan
   • Phase 3: Preparing the program learning outcomes report and improvement plan
   • Phase 4: Implementing the improvement plan
6. Recording learning outcomes measurement results:
   • Entering course-level results into the course report
   • Entering program-level results into the program report

The workshop also included practical activities and interactive discussions on how to measure learning outcomes using the designated templates at both course and program levels. Participants were provided with training materials and supporting learning resources related to learning outcomes assessment.

This workshop comes as part of the Deanship of Development and Quality’s ongoing efforts to support academic programs, promote a culture of quality, and empower university staff to apply best practices in quality assurance and accreditation.

The Deanship of Development and Quality is pleased to extend its sincere congratulations on the Bachelor of Media and Communication program obtaining full programmatic accreditation from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, represented by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation (NCAAA), for the period from December 2025 to November 2028.

This achievement reflects the program’s commitment to the highest standards of quality and academic accreditation, as well as its dedication to delivering distinguished educational outcomes that meet labor market needs and align with best practices in the field of media and communication.

The accreditation also underscores the integrated efforts of the program’s leadership and staff, along with the continuous support of the University’s administration, contributing to institutional excellence and the advancement of academic program quality.
